How to say "I am ___. " (In japanese)

When we introduce ourselves to others, we usually state our name.

example:
I am jaimie = watashi wa jaimie desu

◙ Watashi means 'I.'
◙ Wa is a particle which marks the subject of a sentence.

We can also say;
Sally desu. = I am Sally.

Guys used to say 'Boku wa' instead of 'watashi wa'.
example:

Boku wa jack desu.

'Boku is used only by males.

note:
anata = you.
watashi = me/ i'm

example:

◙ Watashi wa Jaimie desu./ Jaimie desu = I am Jaimie
◙ Boku wa Jack desu./ Jack desu  = I am Jack.

Ijou desu.... jaa. ne~ (>_O)m

A Message for Japan

Dear Fellow Japanese-Filipino Children,

We are all aware of what happened to Japan and what it is going through right now. We as Japanese-Filipino Children, being true to our commitment of giving hope and inspiration to others can do someth...ing to support Japan in this difficult time. Despite the distance and limitation of our resources, we can still reach out to them through our messages in an audio-visual presentation which we will all come up with. If you want to be part of this project, please send in your picture with your short but sincere message written on a paper just like the sample here. Message could be in Tagalog, English or Nihongo. Don't write a long message. A word, a phrase or a sentence would be enough. Make sure that you write it on a white bond paper or card board using a black marker and make it bold enough to be read clearly. You may put drawings on your message also.

Instructions:
Step 1: Take a picture of yourself with your message,
Step 2: Upload your photo in your FB account and tag JFsekai and Batis-YOGHI.
Step 3: Email us your nick name, your location and attached your photo, and send it to info@jfsekai.com
Step 4: And share this poster to your family and friends

Deadline of Submission: Sunday, March 27, 2011

Thank you and we hope that you will participate in this endeavor. We hope that through efforts such as this, we will be able to show our sympathy to Japan and impart something positive to them.

'Nan desu ka?'

"Nan desu ka? ". This phrase is used when you don't know what something is...
it's like saying 'what is it?'

nan = what
desu ka = is it?

but don't say "nan" when refferring to other people, it's an insult, and rude.

Q: nan desu ka? = what is it?
A: inu desu = it's a dog.
Q: nan desu ka? = what is it?
A: neko desu = it's a cat.

Spring Sonata no. 5 ...

The Violin Sonata No. 5 in F major by Ludwig van Beethoven. It is often known as the "Spring" sonata,  in 1801.
Spring is one of the most popular of Beethoven's sonatas for piano and violin, the work is easily remembered, even after first hearing...and i'm addicted!! waaaahhhhhhh!!! xD.
While listening to it, you'll imagine flowers and fields, the music is full of joy, and its refreshing. Yeap.. it's  'Spring,'.
The melodies are immediate, simple, and elegant. There are also humorous moments, reminding listeners that Beethoven was a master of fun and games as well... ehehhe..

Ludwig Van Beethoven..I salute you..

Strange Restaurant

Lol .. this part of paseo catches chibi squikee's eyes... xD lmao.

and I've read a poem.. and it made me lol.. nyahaha,,, ~imagining
i'll share this btw.
I said, "I'll take the T-bone steak."
A soft voice mooed, "Oh wow."
And I looked up and realized
The waitress was a cow.
I cried, "Mistake--forget the the steak.
I'll take the chicken then."
I heard a cluck--'twas just my luck
The busboy was a hen.
I said, "Okay no, fowl today.
I'll have the seafood dish."
Then I saw through the kitchen door
The cook--he was a fish.
I screamed, "Is there anyone workin' here
Who's an onion or a beet?
No? Your're sure? Okay then friends,
A salad's what I'll eat."
They looked at me. "Oh,no," they said,
"The owner is a cabbage head."

How to say "it's not" (in japanese)

i learned another simple grammar in japanese.. xD

since 'desu' means 'it is',
'dewa arrimasen' or 'janai desu' is used as 'it is not'. They both have the same meaning, but 'dewa arrimasen' is more formal... oh yeahh.. lmao

example:
>neko dewa arrimasen or neko janai desu = it's not a cat.
>inu dewa arrimasen or inu janai desu = it's not a dog.
>yuki-san janai desu = i'm not yuki.

since i'm not yuki, i have to put the suffix '-san' at the end of  the name...

(>_<)~uwaaaahh! nihonggo o narau  suki desu... xD

a question sentence in Japanese

continuation of my lesson 1 !!
tw00ooott!!

making a question in japanese, is just simple..just add "ka" at the end.. (^_<)b and that's it!!

example:
>neko desu ka? = is it a cat?
>inu desu ka? = is it a dog?
>yuki-san desu ka? = are you yuki? or is it yuki?
('-san' is a polite way of calling other peoples name.. it is always added on other peoples name, when you are refferring to someone else, rather than yourself. But don't add '-san' at the end of your name, or when your referring to yourself. It's rude and unusual .)

got it? ..

ja mata..! (>_<)

Lesson 1: using the "desu" structure

got my japanese lessons at nihongo o narau (which means learn japanese) nihongo=japanese, narau=learn..

lesson 1: "desu"

Loading...⌠▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓     ⌡

"desu" is the simplest structure in japanese (pronounced as "des") just like when we're saying "ohayo gozaimasu", (good morning) 'gozaimasu' is pronounced as 'gozaimas' .. u became silent."Desu" means 'it is', 'those are', or 'it's'. You can also have this format "I am _name_ desu"

 example:
when you happen to see a cat, which is 'neko' in japanese, you would probably say:
> "neko desu"
literally means 'it's a cat' or 'those are cats'.
'Inu' is the japanese for dog:
> "inu desu"
'it's a dog' or 'those are dogs'
> "yuki desu"
means 'I am yuki'
you can introduce yourself by saying just like this structure.
